Ocean Reef Marina’s latest upgrades, featuring Perth’s longest boat ramps, arrive this July!
Access to Ocean Reef Marina will change in the coming months to support ongoing construction milestones. Visitors can continue to enter via Ocean Reef Road and Boat Harbour Quays but should follow all traffic management signage while works continue and additional parking areas are completed.

Ocean Reef Marina boat ramps to open July 2025
The newly constructed boat ramps will open in late July, including extra space for launching and retrieving vessels, a 108m-long temporary mooring jetty along the southern breakwater, and a kayak launch landing.
Underground service installation for electrical, sewer, stormwater drainage and communications are nearly complete in the southern part of the site, with service installation also well underway in the northern area.
Works on new road infrastructure, pavement and car parks are ongoing, including construction of the new entrance road roundabout, which will provide access to the new marina development. Following commencement in January, concrete works are continuing along the Destination Basin Edge Wall, which will help form the waterfront edge to the marina and provide structural support.

Work Impacts
Landscaping: A tube stock planting program is underway for direct sowing during the winter season, as well as tree planting to provide maximum support while their root systems are being established. Irrigation is progressively being installed to nurture the vegetation through the warm, dry months. A concrete irrigation tank has been constructed to provide sufficient water storage that is replenished from an underground bore.

Underground power energised: The removal of overhead power lines along Boat Harbour Quays is now complete, with new underground power now energised. In parallel, we’re harnessing solar power through a smart microgrid, designed to deliver cleaner, more affordable electricity across the marina precinct for both residents and businesses.
New boat ramps opening
We’re excited to announce that all eight new boat ramps will be opening in late July.
Thank you to all boat users for your patience during the construction phase. Here’s what’s coming:
- The new 65m jetties are at least 24m longer than the previous jetties, providing extra space for launching and retrieving vessels.
- Boat ramps have been extended beyond Australian Standard depth requirements to accommodate a wider range of vessels.
- The toe of the ramp is 1.46m below the lowest astronomical tide (standard is 1.2m below for deep draft vessels).
- A 108m extension has been added to the southern jetty to accommodate temporary mooring of small craft, including a kayak launch and retrieval landing.
