STAGE 1 WORKS PROGRESSING WELL

Welcome to the final Construction Update of 2025! It has been quite the year, with Stage 1 of the Ocean Reef Marina project progressing steadily, with major milestones achieved and exciting progress ahead. Over summer, some of the most significant components of this stage will be delivered, bringing the vision for this world-class destination closer to reality.

WORKS PROGRAM

      • Public parking continues to be available in the southern boat trailer carpark with street lighting to be energised in the coming weeks.
      • A temporary footpath link from Ocean Reef Road down Boat Harbour Quays into the marina is anticipated to be open in December, following the final underground service installations.
      • The coastal shared path through the development is anticipated to open in the southern section in early to mid-2026. While some areas may look complete, ongoing underground service works mean they remain unsafe for public access. Please check the project website and social media for updates on pedestrian and cycling access.DevelopmentWA and Georgiou Group are committed to staging construction activities to enable safe pedestrian and cyclist movement ahead of Stage 1 completion, which is currently anticipated in mid-2026. This includes:
        • Short-term: Opening a temporary pedestrian footpath along Boat Harbour Quays to the new boat ramps and the Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club and Marine Rescue Whitfords facilities (targeted for mid-December 2025).
        • In 2026: Opening the southern section of the coastal shared path linking to Hodges Drive, once construction works are sufficiently complete.

The full coastal shared path will only open upon completion of Stage 1 works to ensure the entire route is fully constructed and safe.

      • Underground service installation for electrical, sewer, stormwater drainage and communications are advancing well across the northern area.
      • Landscape works in the community open areas are progressing well, with paving, seating zones, and landscaping taking shape in two southern locations and further north within the Stage 1 residential precinct. These recreational spaces will provide vibrant hubs for relaxation and social interaction as the development moves forward.
      • Works on new road infrastructure, pavement and car parks are ongoing across the development.
      • Concrete works are continuing along the destination basin edge wall (the support structure wall along the water’s edge).

    MARINA ACCESS CHANGES

Access into the marina precinct will continue to change as construction progresses.

December 2025: The temporary pedestrian footpath along Boat Harbour Quays to the new boat ramps and club facilities is now open to the public
Early-mid 2026: The southern section of the coastal shared path linking to Hodges Drive is anticipated to open following key services connections.

The full extent of the coastal shared path through the development will open once Stage 1 works are complete.

See the above infographic for details.

RENEWABLE POWER INSTALLED FOR A GREENER MARINA

The development is now connected to a new underground power supply which will ultimately be connected to a renewable energy microgrid. This renewable energy system has been designed to meet the energy needs of the future mixed-use development, combining residential, retail and marina facilities. It is one of the key features of our recently acquired EnviroDevelopment Certification.

SMARTER, BRIGHTER BOAT RAMPS OPEN FOR USE

The new boat ramps are now providing a more streamlined launching and retrieval facility, while lighting at the new floating jetties is now energised with bespoke solar lights, illuminating the jetties without affecting visibility for ramp users.

  • More smart boat ramp features are anticipated to come online in the future. Stay tuned for updates.

OCEAN REEF SEA SPORT CLUB AND MARINE RESCUE WHITFORDS

NEW FACILITIES NEAR COMPLETION

New state of the art facilities for the Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club and Marine Rescue Whitfords are ready to open after successful relocations, with current access available to members and volunteers only, via a private access road.

To bring these impressive looking buildings to completion, significant internal works have continued over the past few months.

Byte Construct have now installed all glass and roller doors, completed all floor finishes for both buildings and fitted out the commercial kitchens for the Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club. For the finishing touches before opening, painting, landscaping and cleaning will continue, and, as this newsletter goes to print, the playground and shade sail for club member families, will be installed before officially opening in time for the festive season.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Construction adjacent to the new roundabout west of the existing Ocean Reef Road and Hodges Drive intersection, including new pedestrian access continues, which will provide future access to the Ocean Reef Marina development for all visitors and marina residents.

Works on delivering significant public open spaces through the development will continue including preparations for the ocean-themed playground, bike pump track, and terraced lawn area beside the family-friendly beach.

SITE CLOSURE OVER FESTIVE SEASON

Areas of the site still under construction will close operations for two weeks from 20 December to 4 January 2026. These will be hydromulched in advance of the closure.

Over this period, the site will continue to be monitored with 24-hour security and dust monitors in place, to implement water carts and contingency hydro-mulch applications as needed.
